DIAL-UP SERVICES

ISDN Information

What it is: ISDN is the low cost and simple choice of many business and home Internet users who require a high speed dial-up Internet connection. ISDN stands for "Integrated Services Digital Network". For you, this means high speed digital quality using the regular phone lines which are probably already installed to your home or business. ISDN Internet connections provide speeds of up to 128 Kbps (2 channels of 64 Kbps).

What you will need: To get ISDN Internet access, you need an ISDN phone line from your local telephone company, such as Ameritech or GTE. You will need an ISDN modem, sometimes called a Terminal Adapter. You will also need to sign up for an ISDN Internet account from Powercom.

How to connect: Once your account is set up, you simply dial the local Powercom ISDN telephone number in your community to connect to the Internet.
